ATTENTION HORSEY VOLUNTEERS!!

The R.E.M. Ride will also serve as the "KCC Alternative Century/Metric Century" ride for volunteers working on Saturday during the Horsey Hundred.  These rides are "all

comer's" rides -- which means there may not be a ride leader on the route

The Century and Metric (62 miles) routes will be published soon and there will be choices designed to bring riders back to Georgetown at the appropriate time so they may enjoy the R.E.M. lunch and socializing, and then go back out and complete their mileage.  The routes will also provide store stops, but please plan accordingly and bring food and drink with you!

Anyone is welcome to participate, however ONLY people actually volunteering on Saturday for the Horsey Hundred can use this as an alternate ride for meeting the requirements of the Kentucky Cycling Challenge.  Saturday Horsey volunteers can also receive KCC credit for ANY of the shorter R.E.M. routes on this day.

Maps and sign in sheets will be available at Slainte at 8:00 a.m. - If you want to get an even earlier start, please text/call Glenn Mitchell (502 229-6170) to arrange the logistics. Please note Restrooms will not open till 8:30 AM

NOTE:  There will be a separate sign in sheet to receive credit for the KCC so please make sure to sign out and back in for your BCC miles, and also report in after your ride for the Challenge credit (different sheet).

PLEASE NOTE:  You Saturday volunteers may also ride ANY of the routes for the REM event, or any combination of those routes, to get the mileage you want to do.  You are also encouraged to adjust your routes and your starting time so that you can partake of the FREE LUNCH at Slainte!

For instance, if you want to do a Century, but still have the lunch, you could ride the Metric route above (going west), leaving around 8:00 am, averaging 17 mph, which will bring you back to Georgetown before noon.  Then, after lunch, you could do the A/B route (37.7 miles), which goes east, and reach your 100 miles.

Someone who wants to do the Metric Century and still have the lunch? Just do the A route (38.4 miles), leaving Georgetown at whatever time between 8 and 9 am that will allow you to return in time for lunch, and then, after lunch, ride the B/C route (22.8 miles) to get 61+ miles.

Put together your groups and have fun doing the Alternate Horsey Hundred Ride!  Even folks who are not volunteering on Saturday may want to get in a longer ride and pedal along with some friends for a few more miles than usual.  Your miles can't count for the Kentucky Cycling Challenge, but they are still counted for Club Miles!
