Details:
The Augusta Ferry is not accepting walk-ons to cross the river.  But the attendant on Tuesday said they will accept bicyclists. You will need to keep social distance and have masks for the crossing. That said, I do not know if this will change based on who is running the ferry that day.  There is a chance that you could ride to Augusta, and need to return to Maysville via an out-and-back.

Due to the ferry crossing, the ride may be cancelled not only due to rain, but also due to high water, high winds, or mechanical problems when the ferry cannot run.  I will call to check and post on the BCC Forum and facebook after 8 am on the ride day.

There are store stops available in small towns along the way.
Riders are encouraged to see the sights, particularly in
Augusta, Kentucky; Ripley, Ohio; and Maysville/Washington, Kentucky.

There is NO Fall Colors Festival held in Augusta this year.
I have not extended an invitation to other cycling groups to join us this year.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, this hybrid ride has been created to allow BCC members an opportunity to ride with other members of their choosing at a time on Saturday that is convenient for them and be covered by the BCC's insurance, as you would during a normal BCC group ride.

To be covered by the BCC's insurance, all riders must register for the ride.  After the ride, BCC members will need to let me know that you completed the ride.

You can contact me at 859-333-6736 or chriscole211@yahoo.com to inform me of the completion of your ride within 24 hours. I will then add your name and mileage to the ride sheet and submit it to the Rides committee.

Each rider is expected to make contingencies for mechanical breakdowns on their own, or within their riding group.

While riding by yourself is allowed, the BCC strongly recommends that you ride with at least one other person, or a small group of no more than 10.  Riders shall not come to any BCC approved ride if they do not feel good, have been running a temperature, or have an active case of Covid-19.  Riders are expected to follow social distancing guidelines (currently 6 feet).

Masks are required by Governor's Executive Order when outside within 6 feet of someone not of your household.  Masks are not require while riding, as long as social distance is maintained.

If there is an accident and you need either medical assistance or law enforcement, please dial 911 for emergency assistance.  As soon as possible, notify me so I can complete an accident report for insurance.

RECOMMENDED RIDER ACTIONS
* Emergency contact information should be carried with you (this should be
normal)
* Have an emergency backup that can come and get you if needed
* Have water, food, etc. for the ride or a store stop scheduled
* Spare tubes, tools, etc.
* TAKE PHOTOS and share on the BCC's Facebook page
* Based on current guidelines including USA Cycling recommends riding either side
by side, or if behind a person keep a distance of 10 feet or more.
