#RedRiverGorge Traffic Update - Both lanes of the Mountain Parkway will be closed between Slade (Exit 33) and Pine Ridge (Exit 40) starting Friday, Oct 2.
Westbound traffic will continue to detour onto KY15 at Pine Ridge. Eastbound traffic will detour onto KY11 from Slade, join KY715 in Zachariah and let out at Pine Ridge. Uphill access to Koomer Ridge Campground from Slade is currently blocked so take KY15 from Pine Ridge to access the campground.
Plan for longer travel times as we see increased traffic on these winding, narrow roads.

The 51st Annual Red River Rally will be held on October 3rd and 4th 2020.

Join us for Kentucky's oldest continuously organized bicycle ride. Since 1970 the Bluegrass Cycling Club has hosted the Red River Rally. We welcome you to take part in our 51st ride through the Red River Gorge.

After careful consideration it has been decided that this year’s event will be held as a HYBRID ride. The ride will be NON-SUPPORTED, and you will need to plan accordingly..Route options will be posted soon, allowing you to download to your device or print out.

Please keep the following items in mind when planning your ride:

  • Routes will NOT be marked, have a map with you
  • There will not be any SAG service and cell service can be spotty
  • Lights are STRONGLY recommended for the trip through Nada Tunnel
  • You must register for the ride via BGCYCLING.NET
  • Once registered, you will be covered under BCC Club Insurance
  • Parking at shelter #2 by the sky-lift parking lot at the Natural Bridge State Resort Park
  • Bathrooms available at shelter
  • Please adhere to current state guidance for COVID-19

Although this is not the event that we envisioned for this year, we feel it is the best option in the age of COVID-19.  As a result of these changes, the 2020 Red River Rally will not be a paid event.  We hope this will allow you to enjoy the day riding with your friends at your leisure, while enjoying the scenery and camaraderie.  We hope to offer limited selections of Red River Rally merchandise for presale in the next week or so.  Please consider making a purchase to support the Bluegrass Cycling Club and its endeavors.

Should you have any questions or concerns please feel free to reach out to Edward Surbaugh or Laurie Roberts.

Thank you for your understanding and support during this unprecedented time.
